I have always had a somewhat particular relationship with The5ers. It is one of the longest-standing prop firms in the industry, and its longevity is exactly why many traders trust it. Over the years, they have also tried to reinvent themselves and update their offering. However, personally, I have never been completely convinced by them—mainly because payouts are often delayed by up to two weeks after so many years in business, which makes me question the model. My top points Established and long-standing: The5ers is one of the prop firms that has been in the market the longest. This consistency is definitely a positive factor and, for many traders, offers greater reassurance compared to newly launched brands. Programs that differ from the norm: It does not always follow the typical standardized models used by other prop firms. This may be interesting to traders looking for conditions that differ from the usual, near-identical challenge formats. It has tried to evolve: Over time, the company has worked to update its image, programs, and overall proposition, remaining relevant despite a market that has become far more competitive than it was a few years ago. My drawbacks Payouts can be significantly delayed: This is the point that concerns me the most. Waiting times of up to two weeks are not ideal, especially today, when many prop firms are able to process payments much faster. Non-standard models: Unique programs can be an advantage, but they also make it more difficult to compare conditions, payouts, and actual trading flexibility with more conventional prop firms.
